Break the Chains of
Economic Oppression
A Little History on Economic Power
Please understand…slavery
was and is about one thing—cheap labor, i.e., economics. Slavery was not
about racism. Racism was the systematic tool
used to perpetuate the slavery of indigent servitude, slavery of Native
Americans, the Chinese, Africans, child labor, and the like.
Throughout the history of this country there has been a
single economic standard, the standard that Adam Smith called the
“vile maxim of the masters
of mankind…All for ourselves and nothing for other people.”
Watch the movie The American Ruling
Class found at the following link; http://www.snagfilms.com/films/title/american_ruling_class/.
This single economic standard allowed the Unites States “to
exterminate the Indian race…without violating a single great principle of
mortality in the eyes of the world.”
This single standard also defines and justifies the leading topic of
today, terrorism—“their terror
against us and our clients is the ultimate evil, while our terror against them does not exist—or, if it does, is entirely
appropriate.” Quotes for Norm Chomsky’s
book Failed States.
We live in a Capitalistic Society—the right to work for and
earn a profit. Ours is also a Christian
Society. However, with the separation of
Church and State, it appears that the State, i.e., Capitalism has the upper
hand and is the guiding force in our society.
Capitalism on steroids; Capitalism to the point of Greed, is where and
how our society has turned toxic.
Greed, Capitalism on steroids, has changed who and what is
worshiped. The right to make a profit
has become the need and overall desire
to make a profit. It resulted in what
Adam Smith and the 1%’s, who profited from the cheap labor of slavery to create
and live by the theory of the “vile maxim”, considering themselves “the masters
of mankind” who want “All for (them)selves and nothing for other people.” This same theory is in existence today.
We, the 99%, who are not masters
of mankind, must be masters of
ourselves. We should profit from our
own labor and help each other profit, understanding that we all profit from the
good and fair labor of each other. The
separation of Church and State should not mean abandoning one for the
other. Church (religion, faith, the duty
to do right) should guide the actions of State to ensure the “pursuit of
happiness” of all the people; not just the 1%.
We should do our part. Begin by
exercising your rights we fought for and earned…
Here and Now
There are things we can and should do to improve our own economic
positions. We can do things to make
these tough times as easy as we can.
Some suggestions are:
·
make your own clothes
·
form car pools to go shopping at warehouse
stores like Costco’s, etc
·
purchase in bulk, generic, and off-brand and your-brand
items
·
grow your own vegetable, even in apartments
·
barter your skills and abilities for other’s
skills and abilities
·
share home space and share expenses
·
form car pools to get to doctor appointments,
and the like
NOTE: To avoid misunderstandings, make sure you write out an agreement for whatever
you decide to do. Do this whenever you
agree to work with someone, especially family and friends. You don’t want to turn a good thing into
something negative.
There are others things to do to improve your condition that
are a bit more involved. For instance,
start your own business. The business
need not be anything big or elaborate.
Just do it! It’s a good way to put your creative thoughts to work and control
your economic position.
·
Grow and sell vegetables
·
Make and sell clothes
·
Cook and sell food
·
Form car-pools, provide rides
There are many things
we can do to help ourselves and others. These
are just a few simple suggestions. You
may have others.
